B2 Defense Training
Confidence Comes From Knowing What to Do
At B2 Defense Training, we believe good training should do more than help you complete a class or check a box. It should give you practical skills, a clearer understanding of your responsibilities, and the confidence to make informed decisions.
Training should be supportive, hands-on, and built around the individual. Every student brings a different level of experience, comfort, ability, and purpose. Some are handling a firearm for the first time. Others are preparing to carry concealed, returning to training after time away, or working to strengthen skills they already have.
There is no one-size-fits-all path.
Our goal is to meet each student where they are, explain the why behind each skill, and provide opportunities to learn through instruction, demonstration, practice, and application.
Questions are encouraged, and students are never expected to already know what they came to learn.
We focus on safe firearm handling, responsible ownership, personal safety, sound decision-making, and practical skills that are useful beyond the classroom or range.

Training for Real Life
B2 Defense Training offers firearms education, concealed carry training, personal safety workshops, Stop the Bleed, tactical medicine, CPR skills, private instruction, group training, and team-building events.
Our classes are designed for real people with real questions and real goals. You do not need prior experience, and you do not need to pretend to be comfortable when you’re not. Training is built around where you are now, not where someone thinks you should be.
We believe confidence is built through knowledge, preparation, and meaningful practice.
Meet Erica Brown
Erica Brown is the co-founder, owner, and lead instructor of B2 Defense Training.
Erica did not grow up around firearms and began shooting later in life. That experience shaped the way she teaches today. She understands that learning about firearms can feel intimidating, especially when a student is unsure where to begin or has previously felt rushed, dismissed, or overwhelmed.
Her teaching style is patient, direct, and practical. She focuses on helping students understand what they are doing, why they are doing it, and how to continue building their skills after class.
Erica is an NRA-certified firearms instructor, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, Stop the Bleed instructor, and facilitator of the Broward County Chapter of A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League.

Meet Russ Brown
Russ Brown is the co-founder and Senior Instructor of B2 Defense Training and brings over 40 years of law enforcement experience to the company.
During his career, Russ has served in patrol, motorcycle operations, field training, tactical assignments, crash and accident investigation, and specialized multi-agency operations through NIPAS. His primary area of expertise is defensive tactics, with a strong focus on personal protection, decision-making, and responding effectively under pressure.
Russ is an NRA-certified firearms instructor, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, and Stop the Bleed instructor. He also serves as an adjunct professor in online criminal justice programs at multiple universities, bringing years of experience teaching complex subjects to adult learners.
His background allows him to connect decades of real-world experience with clear, organized instruction. Russ helps students understand not only how to perform a skill, but also when, why, and whether it should be used.
